Mats Zuccarello scored when New York Rangers lost 2-3 home to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL.
A fearless Ligthning team lived up to the name as they scored the first three goals of the match at Madison Square Garden.
Yanni Gourde gave the away team six minutes into the first period of the match. Erik Cernak and Steven Stamkos scored two fast in the second period, and a shaken Rangers seemed to be played out by the ice of an aggressive Lightning.
But then a Norwegian appeared in great shape. Mats Zuccarello delivered three assists in Thursday’s match against the New Jersey Devils. Against Lightning, he noted for scoring when at the end of the second period he reduced to 1-3. The scoring seemed to give home team new energy, and shortly thereafter Kevin Hayes scored. At the position 2-3, the match was barely enough, and a mass battle broke out between the teams. Ligthning, however, managed to calm it all ashore.
Zuccarello has five goals and eight assists in the last seven games he has played. Saturday’s match was his 500th in the Rangers suit.
