Warning: large amounts of rainfall expected in southern and eastern Norway

The meteorologists have sent out hazard warning at a yellow level due to heavy rainfall. Rain jacket and rubber boots will be needed in Eastern Norway this weekend.

Yellow level is the third highest level of Meteorological Institute’s hazard warning. The precipitation can lead to a risk of landslides and flooding.

According to the meteorologists, between 80 and 120 millimeters rainfall is expected in Agder, Telemark, Vestfold, Østfold, Buskerud, Oslo, Akershus and Oppland.

– There will be local differences. Some will get a lot of rain and others a little less. It will also count on Western Norway, and perhaps most in Rogaland, says meteorologist Siri Wiberg at Meteorological Institute to NTB.

Wiberg states that, in addition to the rainfall, some wind is expected. In particular, it will blow in western regions, and in Rogaland there will be stiff breeze and storm on the coast. Wind will also be north of the country, but there will be some rain.
