According to SOHR, atleast 32 civilians have been killed in the last 24 hours in an air attack by the United States. The attack took place against an IS-controlled village Souseh, which lies east of the Euphrates River.
The Exile Group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) also reports that on Thursday, 18 civilians were killed out of which 7 of them were children. Also, on Friday, seven civilians were killed. It is believed that the people got killed must be refugees from Iraq.
According to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, IS has expanded its area by the river, and that IS has taken closer to 700 hostages.
The Kurdish-led group of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a major offensive on September 10 against a part of the Euphrates Valley around the city of Hajin, where it is estimated to reside around 3,000 Islamic extremists. However, the SDF has suffered major losses in the operation, which has air support from the coalition against IS, led by the United States.
