The operation is under way: To remove the world’s largest trash trap

Sea cleaning system is on its way to a garbage hut that is four times larger than Norway.

The Ocean Cleanup is an ocean cleaning system which is transported to the huge field of liquid plastic north of the Pacific in an attempt to clean up. The field, called The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, covers an area four times larger than Norway and consists of at least 79,000 tons of plastic distributed on 1.8 billion billion pieces.
