On Thursday, September 13th, the crown princess Mette-Marit will attend the funeral of UN’s former Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s in Ghana.
Annan, who was 80-year-old, died on August 18 after a short-term illness. He will be laid to rest in a state funeral in Ghana’s capital of Accra where the Crown Princess will represent Norway.
Annan was born in Ghana in 1938. He was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations, from January 1997 to December 2006. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001 with the UN to revitalize the UN and contributed to a better organized and peaceful world.
