Solskjær receives 86 million

British newspaper Daily Mirror reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjær will receive an annual salary of NOK 86 million if he becomes permanent manager of Manchester United.

The newspaper cites no sources on its information, but writes that kicked José Mourinho had just twice the annual salary (£ 15 million) when he ruled the ship at Old Trafford.

According to Mirror, Solskjær will be willing to accept a salary that is far lower than that of the Portuguese. Solskjær shall have been promised solid bonuses if he continues to deliver results also as a permanent employee.

The Daily Mirror writes that it was the epic 3-1 win over PSG away from home on Wednesday that will have convinced the Manchester United board that Solskjaer is the right man to bet on.

The players seem confident that Solskjær will get the job fixed.

The Christian wonder said when he met the press on Friday in front of the weekend’s Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

– As for the contract issue, you cannot have two contracts when you are the manager, so the (Molde) contract was terminated. I have a contract with United until the end of June, said Solskjær.

He also rejected the fact that he is tired of the fierce speculation about his future.

– It’s just the media. I’m not here to be excited, I’m here to do a job, said the United manager.

Solskjær signed a new three-year contract with Molde as late as December. When he was picked up at United it was communicated that he was going back to Molde for the summer.

Earlier this week, Molde director Øystein Neerland said following Romsdals Budstikke about the coach’s contract situation.

– We have an agreement with Ole Gunnar in 2021. It applies if he does not continue in Manchester United.

The players in Manchester United have never hidden the fact that Solskjær is wanted as a manager on a permanent basis, and it is probably only a matter of time before the publication comes.

Manchester United has only lost one match in the last 17 and has nine away in a row.

Daily Mirror believes it is only a short time before Solskjaer gets the final message that his future is at Old Trafford.
