The airline Widerøe announced in a press release Thursday that they are facing a number of challenging operational events. The challenges have resulted in disturbances and consequences for planned routes both Thursday and in the future.
“It’s been a tough day. We work hard to get back to normal operation. Every man is on deck, says information consultant Lina Lindegaard Carlsen in Widerøe to NTB.
Tough weather conditions and other unrealistic events, which have resulted in more aircraft standing on the ground. In addition, lightning and meetings with birds have led to the need for technical inspection. The airline has twelve aircraft out of order.
There has been also maintenance scheduled for the aircrafts.
“Some of our departures are so-called milk routes and are often flying in several destinations, especially in the north. Thus, it creates ripples when we cancel these, “said Carlsen, who will not estimate when all the planes are in the air again.
Affected passengers have been contacted and offered alternative travel or refund, informs the airline.
