At least eleven people have been killed in a massive explosion on a market in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, police said.
The news agency DPA is given the death toll by police officer Ahmed Baashane. He says it’s about a car bomb.
It is the marketplace Hamarweyne that should have been hit. Eyewitnesses say to Reuters news agency that they have seen smoke rise from the city center.
Somalia’s capital is often attacked by the extreme Islamist group al-Shabaab.
