Norway’s largest offshore company has dropped Farstad from its name and will now be called Solstad Offshore ASA.
The name choice for the shipping company until Monday was called Solstad Farstad, was taken at the general meeting in May this year, but came into force on Monday, Sysla writes.
Just over a year after the much-discussed merger between John Fredriksen’s Deep Sea Supply, Farstad Shipping and Solstad Offshore, which was controlled by Kjell Inge Røkke, was completed.
Following the merger, former chairman of Farstad Shipping, Sverre Andreas Farstad, joined the new company as a board member. He resigned in disagreements in January and wished that the family name was removed from the shipping name.
