NOK 27 billion for rail in next year’s state budget

The government will allocate a total of NOK 27 billion to various rail projects in the state budget for 2019. It is 12 percent more than this year’s budget.

The construction of InterCity Vestfoldbanen, planning of InterCity Østfoldbanen and a new Oslo tunnel among the projects that receive increased support.
It has been known early that the government will certainly increase its focus on public transport and walking and cycling roads by 45 percent. This means that the pot for this will be 3.7 billion next year. Among other things, support for large-scale public projects in cities with urban-language letters is increased by more than NOK 1.5 billion, while NOK 650 million is granted for measures for cycling, times and public transport along national roads.
