A new environmental limit on several stretches in Oslo will be introduced to limit dust from 1st November. The road network will assess the boundaries along the way.
According to a press release by Vegvesenet , one of the main challenges with the measure is that road users do not comply with the speed limit.
“An important step is to introduce environmental limits in those periods when dust is an important problem. This means that we will now consider a stay in the environmental limit period midwinter, and rather have a somewhat longer period in spring, as the problems with swirl dust are actually the greatest. We hope this will help more people understand that this is introduced for some reason, “says senior engineer Henrik Ness Mikkelsen in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
