In Western Norway it is very close to the heat record for February in both Bergen and Stavanger.
The average temperature so far this month is 5.1 degrees in both cities. It is only 0.4 degrees away from the hottest registered for February in both places, says the Meteorological Institute.
At Sola near Stavanger, the February record was set in 1990, when the average temperature was 5.5 degrees.
The same average temperature was measured in Bergen in 2014.
