The trains in Norway had more than one million more passengers in the last three months of 2018 than in the same period in 2017.
In total, public transport had 168 million passengers in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to new figures from Statistics Norway.
There was a decrease of 1.4 per cent in the number of passengers in public transport as a whole.
Fewer took bus and boat. According to Statistics Norway, this must be seen in connection with the introduction of automatic passenger numbers in Oslo and Akershus from 2018, and that these figures are not directly comparable with previous years.
Total ticket revenues increased by NOK 235 million from the fourth quarter of 2017 to the same time in 2018. This is an increase of 6.8 per cent.
It was the railroad with passenger growth of 5.4 per cent, which also had the largest relative increase in ticket revenues by 15.3 per cent in the period.
