A man in his 70s was stabbed in the center of Porsgrunn on Friday night. Currently, no arrest is committed for the misdemeanor, police said.
The police received notification of the incident at 20:35 Friday night.
There should not have been any witnesses to the incident. Police are now hunting one or more perpetrators.
– Now work is being done to secure the scene, and crime technicians are on their way out. This should have happened just outside the center of Porsgrunn, and we will contact neighbors in the area to hear if they have seen or heard anything, said in-law lawyer Cecilie Svorstøl in the Southeast police district to NTB Friday night.
Offended was conscious when he was driven to the hospital in Telemark. A little after 1 o’clock, Svorstøl states that his condition is stable, but that he has not been interrogated yet.
“We have to wait for interrogation overnight, but hopefully we will be able to speak to him on Saturday morning,” the police lawyer said. She says the police have so far not come any closer to identifying or apprehending the person or persons who were behind the knife stick.
– We hope to get tips from the audience, she says. The police are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who may have been in the area at Teknikergata on the Osebakken between 20.00 and 20.35.
