Man poured tin fluid over asylum reception

A man who, on Monday, poured on the lighter fluid and threatened to light, is presented for incarceration in the District Court in Bergen on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on an asylum reception, and the police were summoned and arrested, writes Bergensavisen.

The man is charged with gross damage, but the accusation can be extended according to the police. The police want the man to be detained for four weeks since they believe there is a risk of repetition. The man should have made threats to UDI employees at work.

– Threats to UDI employees to influence a case will be a topic, perhaps even ruthless behavior, says police lawyer Øivind Bjørkås in Western police district to Bergens Tidende.

The man is still in the interrogation with the police on Wednesday morning. There is still something unclear why the man threatened to put himself on fire.
