Man in his 30’s died in a car accident near Harasjøen

A man in his late 30’s died when his car collided with a truck and caught fired near the Harasjøen lake in Stange Muncipality in Hedmark on Monday night.

“We were notified at 20:13 that a car broke and that another vehicle was involved. A passenger car and a truck had collided and the passenger car started to burn. The driver of the car is confirmed dead, said Operations Manager Atle B. von Obstfelder in the Inland Police District to the NTB just before midnight.

The accident happened on County Road 24 at Lake Harasjøen. The driver of the truck was injured and sent to Kongsvinger Hospital for examination.

“He has no serious damage,” said von Obstfelder.

Both the Crimean technicians and the accident group from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration have been on the spot and conducted investigations. At 7 o’clock on Tuesday, the police announced that the road had been opened again.

The dead man was resident in Romerike, and the police have notified his relatives.
