Lisbet Palme, the widow of Sweden’s former prime minister, Olof Palme, is no more.
Anna Lisbet Christina Palme was 87 years old when she died on 18 October due to long term illness. She was an educated child psychologist and in 1956 she married Olof Palme.
Lisbet Palme was head of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) from 1990 to 1991 and had for several years executive positions in Swedish UNICEF.
Olof Palme, representing the Social Democrats, was prime minister in Sweden for two periods. He was shot and killed by an unknown perpetrator in Stockholm on 28 February 1986.
