Kari Andreassen becomes new education director in Oslo

Kari Andreassen (50) is appointed as Director of Education in Oslo. Astrid Søgnen leaves his position on 1st December.

Andreassen is currently employed for a period of six months, the municipality of Oslo informs in a press release. Then the position must be highlighted on the object.

She has previously been deputy director in both Frogner, Nordstrand and Ullern districts in Oslo. She has been a councilor in Grue municipality in Hedmark and assistant councilor in Kongsvinger municipality, which is her home municipality.

“I have great expectations for Andreassen, who is acting education director until new permanent director can join. Andreassen is a very experienced leader with a good knowledge of the management systems in the municipality, while at the same time having extensive experience from working with children and adolescents’ upbringing in Oslo, says city council for growth and knowledge in the municipality of Oslo, Inga Marte Thorkildsen,

Deputy Director Astrid Søgnen has been sitting for 20 years and opposes his will. She resigns on December 1st.

For several years, Andreassen has commuted to Oslo from Kongsvinger.

– It’s a chosen lifestyle. I have chosen to commute for my family, since I have children of school age. I use the train as an opportunity to get some work away. Then I am well prepared before I have arrived at the office, Andreassen told Frogner Høyres website in an interview in 2015.
