24-year-old died in a fire in Egersund – her husband was charged with killing

A 24-year-old woman was found dead on Monday night in her house at Egersund. Her husband was charged for killing.

– The deceased husband, who is also in the 20’s, is charged for killing. It is currently unclear what has happened, and the police are investigating the case in full to clarify the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the course of events, states police attorney Fredrik Martin Soma at the Stavanger police.

At a press conference on Tuesday morning Soma reported that the police can not say much about the matter at the moment.

– Due to circumstances surrounding the death, he was arrested and charged with killing. It is unclear what has happened, we are still early in the investigation and have a lot of work ahead of us, “said police attorney Fredrik Martin Soma at a press conference on Tuesday.

“The siege is sitting on Tuesday morning,” Soma said.

The police announce that several witnesses have been questioned, and forensics work on the spot. The police have also asked Kripos for technical assistance. The deceased woman will be reproduced.

The fire department moved out after the evolution of smoke from the basement at the address in Fjellveien. When the firemen arrived, there was a full fire in the house, however the fire was quickly turned off.

– At 22.43 a woman was found dead in the house. We suppose it was a resident, but we do not have her identity. The cause of fire is currently unknown, said operation leader Kurt Løklingholm at the police in Stavanger to NTB on Tuesday morning.

According to Stavanger Aftenblad , the married couple who lived in the basement apartment are originally from Sudan.
