House burned down in Sortland

Two residents have been evacuated after a house in Børstrand on Sortland burned down on Monday night. A man is injured.

The police received a message about the fire at 22.41 Monday. All the emergency services moved out, but they were unable to prevent the building from being overtaken.

– The house appears to be burnt out. Firefighters driver with shutting down. Investigation initiated, writes Nordland police district on Twitter.

A resident is sent to the hospital for treatment of burns.

– The man is exposed to a lot of heat, but he went out himself. His condition is unknown, says operations manager Ivar Bo Nilsson in Nordland police district to NTB.

The two evacuees are housed with neighbors, he says.
