Helicopter of Leicester city owner crashed while he was on board

The private helicopter of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha crashed right outside the stadium following a Premier League match against West Ham United.

He was on board when it crashed around 20:30 BST on Saturday. It is well-known that he travels to and from the club’s home games by helicopter. However, the number of people aboard is not yet cleared.

According to the reports of several UK media, the helicopter must have fallen into a parking lot right next to the stadium. The pictures of flames caused by the crash have been also published.

– I saw everything. They had big problems and just managed to get over the arena before the helicopter began spinning and crashing, “said an eye witness to the Daily Mirror newspaper .

“I’ve heard that the Leicester owner’s helicopter crashed in the parking lot outside the stadium. It looks horrible, writes TV expert and former great player Gary Lineker on Twitter.

The Leicestershire police reported “we handle an event near the King Power Stadium, the emergency data is aware of the situation and handles it.”

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who is from Thailand, purchased Leicester in 2010.

Saturday’s evening match ended 1-1 after Leicester settled right before the end. The match started around 17:30 and ended about one hour prior the helicopter took off.
