Hard times for Manchester United manager José Mourinho

Worst start ever for the Man United in Premier League

Manchester United is outraged after the club’s worst Premier League start ever. Can a victory over Valencia in the champions league give José Mourinho a job?

The answer is most likely no, all the time United’s game and results under the Portuguese are not close to responding to supporters expectations.

The pessimists say that the chance of a long-awaited series in 2018/19 is already gone. The Manchester team have only collected ten points from seven series matches and are already nine points behind the rival Manchester City and Liverpool at the table top.

Mourinho may have to cling to the hopes of success in the championship if he is to keep the job at Old Trafford. He even thinks it’s good to get a new match soon after Saturday’s 1-3 defeat against West Ham.

Rays of hope

– For my part, I’m really glad we have a match on Tuesday. Now I’m on the train, and I can immediately start thinking about tomorrow’s treasure and on Tuesday’s match. I prefer it rather than wait to play next Saturday, having a full week with these wounded feelings, Mourinho said after the loss in London, according to  United’s Website.

United’s last win actually came in the championship, where Young Boys scored 3-0 in Switzerland in the first group match. A new victory over Valencia at home Tuesday will be a long step towards the championship of the best-ever European Cup, but also for players seems to be putting the weak results against Wolverhampton, Derby and West Ham behind.

– When you get such results, you want a new match as quickly as possible. And we will get it in a couple of days. We just have to shake off the disappointment and get loose on the next match, “said Ashley Young.

Valencia has had an even worse season start than United, but comes to Old Trafford from its first win this fall. On Saturday, Real Sociedad scored 1-0 on the defeat of La Liga.

The Spaniards opened the championship with 0-2 losses at home against Juventus and thus need points on Tuesday in order not to drop the two group favorites too far ahead.

At the same time, Valencia has only the power to score five goals in eight matches this fall, and it could mean a welcome break for a United defense that has gotten well lately.

Coaches under pressure

Mourinho and Valencia coach Marcelino are far from the only coaches under pressure on Tuesday night. Josep Guardiola and Manchester City guests Hoffenheim and have to raise themselves for the slightly embarrassing 1-2 loss home to Lyon in the championship opening.

Another championship team is Bayern Munich, who lost the series in Germany this weekend as a result of the 0-2 defeat against Hertha Berlin. The German team plays home against Ajax.

Also, title keeper Real Madrid will be in action, away from CSKA Moscow, while Roma receives Viktoria Plzen in the same group.
