From 1 August, electric cars must pay to use the mainland connection to Finnøy outside Stavanger. The fare is half the price of the fossil cars.
The electric car tariff and new tariffs for other vehicles were set in the municipal councils of Rennesøy and Finnøy on Monday, writes Stavanger Aftenblad . Passenger cars with internal combustion engines must pay 106 kroner, while those who have a bombing pay 85 kroner. For zero emission cars, the tariff will be NOK 42.40.
About 30 percent of the passages take place with electric cars, which make up about a quarter of the fleet in Finnøy, the newspaper writes. Several electric car owners have expressed dissatisfaction with the toll plans.
– We got emails right before the start of the meeting. Commuters arguing that they have moved to Finnøy because of a free boom, and that we are now taking away a good, says Jon Olav Runestad (AP).
