A detached house completely damaged in fire at Singsås

“The fire was all around and spread out rapidly in no time,” says fire master Gunnar Sundli.

Emergency services reached on spot where fire broke out in a detached house in Singsås in the middle of Gauldal on Friday night.

The police in Trøndelag received the report of fire on Twitter at 20.25.

– The alarm went out at 20.15. We pulled out with crews from Singsås and Støren. Ether 11 minutes we were on site, says Gunnar Sundli at the 110th central station in Trøndelag.

When the fire brigade arrived, it burned at one end of the house. But in a short space of time, the whole building stood in full fire.

“The fire had come so far as the fire brigade came to the spot that they were helpless to save something,” said Sundli.

Controlled combustion

Several people have lived in the home, but according to the fire department, no one was in the house when it started to burn. A person who was nearby discovered the fire and notified the fire department.

At 21:19, the fire department announced that they had control of the fire and that they were conducting a controlled burnout of the dwelling.

Will investigate

According to operations manager Ann Kristin Øie at Trøndelag police district, it is one of two houses on a small farm on Granøya in Singsås that has burned down. There should be no danger of spreading.

– Do you have any idea of where the fire has started?

– No, it’s all too early to say something about it. We will try to find answers in the further investigation, “says Øie.

The house that burns is located just off the railway line. However, the fire did not affect the Røros course.

“The last train tonight passed immediately after the alarm went,” Sundli explains.
