Christiansen after World Cup silver: – I have worked for this for a long time

Henrik Christiansen won silver in 400m free during World Cup World Championship Swimming in China. Danas Rapsys from Lithuania took the gold.

The 22-year-old impressed in the test heater and was ready for final after making his second best time at the distance ever, 3.38.04.

In the final, the Norwegian continued to swim fast. In Run 5, Christiansen was initially controlled in the middle of the field before he entered the final squad in the last 200 meters. The Nordmann swam checked in for silver at 3.36.64.

– This was completely insane. I’ve worked this for a long time, so it was delicious, said a very satisfied Christiansen to NRK after taking Norway’s first World Cup medal in six years.

Danas Rapsys from Lithuania completed the race winning gold. Gabriele This from Italy took bronze at 3.37.54.

There were also other Norwegian swimmers in action in China last night. Markus Lie swam in to a 19th place at 100m back. Lie got it a little heavy at the end and swam in at 51.60 seconds.

The World Cup debut for Tomoe Hvas ended with a 10th place of 200 medley. He hung well with up to 100m, but the breastfeeding was not quite and he ended at 1.54.34.

Susann Bjørnsen finished in 19th place after 30.83 on 50m chest. She swam in at 30.83

Niksa Stojkovski and Emilie Nyenget Løvberg are also in the Norwegian troop that will be in action in China.
