4,400 prison officers gathered for political strikes

On Monday, More than 4,400 prison officers in Norway gathered for two hours to protest against the government’s proposal for state budget. According the the government’s proposal for a state budget next year, seven prison departments in southern Norway will be closed. This will affect about 150 employees working for the prison.

Labor federations call out strikes

Danish Labor Organization’s Professional Federation took 1,700 members out of strike. In addition, the Norwegian Fengsels and Friomsorgsforbund (NFF), which is affiliated with LO, takes 2,700 members in strike.
